Swoosh shape and stitching
We check the shape of the swoosh and the stitching that holds it. A misshapen swoosh or sloppy, uneven stitching around it is one of the clearest tells there is.
Insole print and glue
We look at the insole print and how cleanly it is glued down. Real pairs are neat; replicas leave excess glue or print the logo slightly off-centre.
Box label and SKU
We check that the SKU on the box label matches the shoe, the colourway and the size. A box code that does not match what is inside it is a serious red flag.
Tongue tag fonts
We compare the tongue tag fonts, the sizing layout and the small print against genuine references for that model and release.
Materials and smell
Real Nikes have a characteristic factory glue smell and use the right materials. Cheap-feeling suede or leather and a harsh chemical odour point to a replica.
